Lew LeHuray

12 Jun 2019 by Mariah Mayne

It is our very sad duty to advise all the Cobra family that Lew LeHuray passed away peacefully last night.

Lew has been a stalwart at the club, originally being part of Maddingley Football Club and playing his role in the two clubs coming together to form what we all now know as BMFNC.

Lew has played many roles over more than 50 years with our club.
A player, Premiership coach, team manager, committee member, secretary, treasurer, Life Member, confidant, adviser, parent, grandparent, uncle, friend, timekeeper for more than 35 years and the timekeeper in our Team of the Era, and was a very easy and the right choice to unfurl our groundbreaking 2016 Premiership flag.

Lew’s guidance has been a source of comfort to many throughout his involvement with the club. He helped shape the lives of generations that he came into contact with at Maddingley and BMFNC.

Lew was a popular figure at our club, and many people have stories about him that still bring a smile to people’s faces now as they recount them, particularly his advice to the umpires as they ran past the old scoreboard.

Rest In Peace Lew, you will be missed and we sincerely appreciate the significant contribution you made to our Club and personally to many of the Cobra family.

Our sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to Glenys and the entire LeHuray family. Our thoughts are with you all.
